Iceland

Iceland is part of the Mid-Atlantic ridge, which marks the boundary between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. It is volcanically active, with many glaciers and glacial rivers which empty into the ocean in the coastal low-lands. I was lucky enough to stay in Reykjavik for 5 days, 3 of which I spent in a rental car, driving as far as I could each day in a different direction.
