Digital photography, by its nature, allows for an immediate response from the camera. As with many things in the digital age, we are given everything we want, as soon as we want it. From this notion, combined with the unprecedented image manipulation offered by digital software, came an experiment. The goal was to pull away from the immediacy and seductive realism of digital, toward a more subjective image. Each work was produced organically, as a visual interpretation of the subject, expressed as a digital montage. The results were images with the elements of composition presented to the viewer in unexpected contexts, allowing for inference, experience and perspective. Moments have been caught, pushed together and layered upon themselves. The viewer then becomes an archeologist, sifting through layers of time.
